Summary:

On the eve of a planned voyage to Brittany, Marjorie Jameson starts her day with no problems more pressing than forcing a boatyard to do an emergency repair to the family yacht. A chance encounter at the Cowes hi-speed ferry terminal begins to unravel a web of conspiracy and murder, with her charming, untrustworthy husband Julian right at the centre and Marjorie as the next intended victim.

But no-one's going to trust the word of an aging housewife whose complaints of abuse the police have previously dismissed as delusions.

In which it turns out that John is, in fact, the leader and oldest brother of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. He wants a vacation, in part because he's worried Sherlock will figure this out. Unfortunately his siblings are not going to make this easy.

Much funnier than it has any right to be really.

What is this?: This fic very cleverly asks what would have happened if it had been John who climbed in the taxi at the end of a A Study in Pink, and so John who found himself facing down Jeff Hope over the poisoned pills. The result is clever, funny and revealing of the differences in John and Sherlock's characters.

What is this?: This is an AU based on a Brandon Flowers (video) in which John is a British Army hostage retrieval expert and Sherlock keeps getting kidnapped. Worth it for the great Sherlock voice and the dry humour.

What is this?: If you encountered Tom's Midnight Garden as a child then the premise here will be obvious and if you liked the children's book then I think you'll like this story which captures well the disorientating and dream-like quality of the book. If you haven't read Tom's Midnight Garden, I'm not sure what you would make of this. All John's life he has dreamed of a garden, but now there is a child in it, a child called Sherlock Holmes.
