Gen/Costis is The Queen's Thief slash pairing of choice though I personally think it's a difficult one to do well, just because the relationship between Gen/Irene is already so complicated and dangerous. This story opts for humour and pulls it off pretty well.

What is this?: Unsuprisingly there is a lot of fic in The Queen's Thief fandom that centres on the wedding night of Eugenides and Irene. In part, I think, because we never see this in the books, their structure demanding that the events are only revealed slowly after the fact. Given that the quality of the fic, as in many small fandoms, is relatively high there are quite a lot of good fics attempting to fill in this blank. I like this one because of it's restraint, the careful decisions about what to reveal and what to leave implicit.

What is this?: The Queen's Thief is a fandom I fell for hard about a year ago. It's a small fandom and a lot of the fic is in the form of vignettes so oen of the things I like particularly about this fic is that it is a proper story. Not only that but it fits seamlessly into the world and style of the books.
